Andy Forrester gave the treasurer's report for Roger Taylor who has had to work at EPB evenings. We were able to report that our chapter now has a bank account with Community National Bank of Rossville, GA. Our accounts shows a $210 balance.
Andy also reported that the usual contact at Fort Bragg, NC for ordering Name Tags has ceased to take orders. We are negotiating with a lady in Hixson who not only can make name tags, but also chapter logos. Roger should have up to date information at our next meeting.
Chairman Doug Stephenson confirmed that our next regular chapter meeting would be held at the Mount Vernon Restaurant hear St. Elmo at 7 PM on April 9th. Our featured speaker will be Colonel Tom McConnell, Director of JROTC for Hamilton County, TN. He will share how our chapter can work with JROTC units with the 82nd Airborne Divison Association Awards programs and other efforts we can accomplish together. Spouses are cordially invited to attend this dinner meeting.
Due to work schedules etc most of our members will be unable to attend the day trip to Fort Benning for the Airborne 5000 Demonstration on Friday, 5 April.
Raymond Weaver shared his airborne experiences from his days at Fort Bragg NC rotating between DRF and post suport. His said most of the time things were pretty routine, but one day when the support personnel began handing out live ammo Raymond knew things were different this time. They readied themselves for a deployment to the Dominican Republic. He regretted that they were unable to make a combat jump and air landed.
